Overland Trail Fly Fishing Club
Instructor: Mr. Spritzer
The Overland Trail Fly Fishing Club is open to all Overland students, parents, and staff members who want to learn more about fly fishing.   We meet every Friday that school is open from 2:40-4:30.  We meet in my classroom, and, if the weather is nice, we walk to the Brighton Recreation Center and fish for rainbow trout, bluegill, crappie, bass, and carp.   When the weather or ice prevents us from fishing, we stay in the classroom and swap fish stories, learn to tie flies, and learn more about trout and what they eat.

No Meeting Friday Oct. 30
Due to the weather and other factors, the fly fishing club will not be meeting on Friday, October 30.
First Meeting of the Year
We will be having our first club meeting on Friday, September 4 from 11:30-12:00.  Friday is an early release day and students will need to have transportation home.  This meeting is just a short meeting to see who is interested.  Regular meetings will begin the following week.  Keep checking this webpage for more information.

Fundraiser: Big Head Todd & the Monsters CD
This year we have a new and unique way to raise funds for our fly fishing club. We have teamed up with local artists Big Head Todd and the Monsters to offer a special "Big Love" CD. All proceeds from the sale of this album will go to help support the Overland Trail Fly Fishing Club. I have a limited number of CD's left so stop by room 805 at OTMS to get your's today for only $10!

Club Meeting Days
The fly fishing club meets every Friday that school is in session.  We meet in Mr. Spritzer's room (805).  Meetings, with the exception of the first one, end at 4:30, and it is imperative that you are able to provide transportation home for your student promptly at 4:30.  Our first meeting will be Friday, September 5 from 2:40 until 3:30.

The Overland Trail Fly Fishing Club would like to thank the Russell family (Chris, Christine, and Kyndra) and Eagle Claw fishing gear for their donation of seven Eagle Claw fly rods and reels and hundreds of Eagle Claw fly tying hooks.  We truly appreciate your support!
